HELIOS / Business guides

Choose the right kind
of support.

Compare responsibility, volume and management needs before comparing a monthly fee.

The direct answer

An employee can fit a substantial, ongoing role inside the business. Outsourced support can fit a defined recurring responsibility or implementation project. Compare the complete scope and management requirement, not just hourly rates.

Describe the responsibility first

List the work, expected volume, systems, availability and decisions the role must own. Separate implementation from ongoing operation so a temporary setup need does not become an undefined permanent role.

Compare the full costs

For an employee, consider compensation, payroll costs, benefits, recruiting, training, supervision and coverage. For a provider, consider setup, recurring fees, included volume, additional work, access requirements and your own review time. Use actual quotes rather than generic savings claims.

Decide how much integration you need

A role that requires continuous onsite presence, immediate dispatch or extensive internal authority may favor an employee. A bounded reporting, bookkeeping or administrative process can be evaluated as a provider scope. Worker classification and employment obligations require qualified advice.

Make the handoff reversible

Keep business accounts under business ownership. Document access, deliverables, backup coverage, record retention and the exit process. A good arrangement should leave your team able to understand how the work is done.

Questions worth answering

The details matter.

Can we use both?

Yes. Internal staff and HELIOS can share a workflow when responsibilities, access and approvals are explicit.

Does outsourcing guarantee lower costs?

No. Compare the agreed deliverables, capacity, quality and management needs for your business.

Scope, deliverables and responsibilities are agreed before work begins. HELIOS is not a CPA firm and does not provide tax, audit, assurance, legal or clinical services.
